NYPD Officer Sentenced to Prison for $1.6 Million Disability Fraud & Tax Evasion

But he was making $1.6 million at a strip club Former New York City police officer Gerard Scparta was sentenced to 18 months in federal prison on August 9 for fraudulently obtaining over $630,000 in disability benefits from the Social Security Administration and under reporting income on his taxes by some $268,000. At the same time Scparta was fraudulently collecting disability benefits, he earned a total of approximately $1.6 million working as a security guard and host at a strip club located in Manhattan.
